babies
This age group is separated into walkers and non-walkers. This encourages the walkers to gain confidence in their movement while ensuring the 'non-walkers' can enjoy their surroundings in safety. The snoozelum has been designed with peaceful, subdued colours in mind to help relax and comfort the babies at rest. Two sides of the snoozelum are glazed, enabling the staff to have full sight of the babies sleeping at all times. Our designers have also created a beautiful twinkling Starfish on the ceiling, to aid the babies to drift off to sleep. The older children will be encouraged to sleep on sleep mats in their individual base rooms. There is a basic daily routine in the baby room but this is very flexible and takes into account each child's individual needs. Where possible the baby's day includes activities such as painting, sticking and messy play to develop their creative skills. The babies have the benefit of a stimulating room with varied, age-appropriate play equipment. These include: Soft play toys, shape sorters, beanbags, heuristic and sensory play to encourage coordination and social skills. We also provide sit and ride toys, tunnels, balls etc, to encourage walking and gross motor development. We will always keep you fully informed of your child's progress through a daily information sheet and regular parents evenings where you can talk to your key worker. Nappies will be checked regularly throughout the day and changed as often as needed. Parents are required to supply nappies and baby wipes/cotton wool for their child's needs. Parents are also required to supply formula milk, already made up in bottles, for their baby. When your child is ready to begin weaning please see your room staff who will talk you through our menu and plan which foods you would like us to introduce and when. Before a child moves on to the next room your key worker will discuss the best way to approach this with you. | ||||||||||||||||
